The film, written and directed by Schrader, follows William Tell (Isaac), a player and ex-soldier who seeks to reform a young man who wants revenge on a common enemy of his past. Just say you want to play cards. His modest presence at the casino is broken when the Circus approaches him, a vulnerable and angry young man who seeks help to carry out his plan to take revenge on an army colonel. Tell sees an opportunity to redeem himself through a relationship with Circus. Backed by La Linda’s mysterious capitalist game, Tell takes Circus with him, going from casino to casino until the amazing trio focuses on winning the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. But keeping Circus straight and tight proved impossible, pushing Tell back into the darkness of his past. Diversity
