It offers better performance than previous versions and more you don’t like the ribbon interface introduced in Office 2007, then you disliked Word 2013. The tape interface is back but has been improved. Menu items have been moved to make the most used features easier. The menu items on the tape have been aesthetically updated to make it easier to distinguish from each other. There’s also a ‘touch mode’, which makes Word 2013 more touch -friendly than previous versions. This mode is only available if you have a computer with a touch screen. The buttons get bigger, making it easier to select the welcome screen and have been redesigned to be more useful. You can view recently opened documents as well as many new templates. There is also a search box at the top where you can find more templates online. This is very useful, as Word 2013 does not include every type of format from photos, which is now easier because Word 2013 can take photos from your Flickr, Facebook and SkyDrive accounts. With Word 2013, Bing also lets you search for images under a Creative Commons license. There is also a new guide to make positioning and resizing pictures in Word easier. Support has also been improved on Word 2013. PDFs now open in Word as if it were a Word document. You can convert Word documents to PDF, depending on the format you are doing. The conversion and opening of PDF in Word 2013 done for Word 2013 is the ability to download the program. Microsoft has an Office app store where you can download and install a variety of productivity tools such as dictionaries. While some programs are useful, they take up screen space and don’t work well with many documents at one. This also becomes easier with Word 2013. You can still track changes, but if you have an Office 365 account, comments can be synced to someone’s document so everyone working on the document can access the latest version. Comments can be displayed as full and gray, so you are less satisfied with your word processor now. There may not be enough new features to make the upgrade to Word 2013 interesting. Yet Word 2013 offers additional updates and features that make it the best version of a word processor to date.
